Talking abut your holiday plans is a bestseller at work. It is a good way to share some excitement and to talk about exciting new things.

I had a lovely week-end. I spend some time with my friends. We went to the movies. We saw Fast and Furious. It is a movie about muscle-cars and testosterone. It is a movie for guys. I like that kind of stuff!

On Sunday I had a kind of family reunion. I had a lovely time. For some reason, even a long week-end feels too short. I look forward to more long week-ends. The month of May has many long week-ends. I am looking forward to being in May.

Of course the elections will take a lot of the week-end time. What is even more annoying is that today’s politicians are very disappointing. They give the feeling to always be lying. As I see it, politicians “talk the talk” but do not “walk the talk”. Their “actions do not speak louder than their words”.

Actually, maybe we have the politicians we deserve. If this is the case, then it says a lot about who we are. I wonder what it is I did to deserve such bad politicians. But it could be worse. We could have a dictator.

What if we had a benevolent dictator? Or maybe simply a dictator who lets the people do what they want to do except talk about and discuss politics. If this was the case, and we made a lot of money then the dictator would want his share and force us to give him some of our hard-earned money, if not all the money.

But then in a democracy we have the feeling that the taxes are only paid by the people and that those who make the laws arrange loop holes for themselves to avoid paying taxes. This is maybe because in our democracy it feels like those who run the system arrange for the system to work in their own interest.

Northern European countries (such as Norway and Sweden) give the impression of being more fair and honest because it seems like the members of the government take less money for themselves. Maybe it is simply because they are not caught and therefore they are innocent until proven guilty.
